Wow, I can’t believe it is already September! It seems like I blinked and summer was coming to and end. I went back to work for another school year on August 4, so in a small way, that is already the end of summer for me. No more pool days in the middle of the week. And back to going to bed early and waking up early. And now that September is underway, I have alreay started thinking about my fall wardrobe, have you? I have been doing a lot of “window shopping” online and thinking about what key pieces I am going to purchase for fall that will also take me through until spring. I am so escited to share my 10 staples for your fall wardrobe today. Here are the key items that I would like to add to my closet in the coming months.
I fell in love with these caged leather booties the minute I saw them. I love the color of these, the chunky heel, and the strappiness (I might have just made up that word). I finally ordered them last weekend, and am anxiously awaiting their arrival! They are currently on sale for $77.96 (40% off). Some other similar booties can be found at Modcloth and Zappos. I plan to wear these with many things, including boyfriend jeans, skinny jeans, dresses, leggings, and skirts.

If you live someplace where you have cold winters like I do, you need a chunky sweater. If you follow my weekly outfit posts, you already know that I wear a sweater almost every work day, no matter what. I am drooling over this chunky sweater from Zara. I probably won’t pay the $79.90 price tag for this, but I will definitely be on the lookout for something similar this fall, in a neutral color like this. You can also look at thrift stores for old chunky sweaters, I have found some really cool ones. Another chunky sweater I love is from Urban Outfitters.

I am always on the lookout for a cool scarf, and this fall is no exception. These tassle scarves pictured come in several colors and I am loving anything with tassles right now. Asos also has a tribal scarf that I am loving. Also, if you don’t have a plaid scarf, go and get one! I bought one last winter that I will still be wearing a lot this fall and winter.
