Hey friends! Have you jumped on the Lularoe train yet? I have acquired a few pieces in the past few months, and am hoping to slowly collect some more of it. I’m here today to talk to you about the leggings in particular. You guys, they are so so comfortable and soft. I think they might be the most comfortable leggings I have ever owned.
I only have two pairs so far, but trust me, there will be more! I have a solid pair and a print pair, and at first I hesitated on purchasing the printed ones because I wasn’t sure how to style them, but I’m so glad I bought them and I have been having fun styling them in different ways.
If you are iffy on how to style printed leggings or solid ones, this is a good post for you, because today’s post is about 10 ways to style Lularoe Leggings! Of course, you don’t have to have this particular brand, these tips will work for any printed or solid leggings you own.

As I said above, the printed leggings scared me at first. And I think I am pretty daring when it comes to fashion, so I’m sure I am not the only person who is worried about how to wear printed leggings. It can be intimidating.
And let me just say right up front. I belong to the school of cover your lady bits when it comes to leggings. Especially for women of a certain age like me. I think any age woman can pull of leggings, I really do! It’s all in the way you style them.
Younger women (like my daughter) seem to feel free to wear them without hiding their ASSets. I however, do not!
I do not think it is appropriate for a professional and a mother to be wearing leggings without covering your lady bits. Sorry if that is offensive to any of you who disagree. And of course you be you! But for me, I love leggings, but I want to be appropriately covered when I am wearing them.
10 Ways to Style Lularoe Leggings (or any leggings)
1. With tall boots
This first way I have styled them was one of the last days of winter, still chilly out, so still trying to keep warm here. So I wore them with boots. Tall boots will look great with leggings.
2. With a cargo or utility jacket
I think this is a great look because a jacket like this is long enough to cover those lady bits, but it is still structured and you can cinch it at the waist a little.
3. Don’t be afraid to mix patterns
I mixed an orange gingham button down with floral leggings, and I loved the look! Now, I do have to say I don’t think this outfit works without the jacket layered over it. It tones down the gingham print so that it is only a peek of the print, and both the floral leggings and the gingham have orange. The black top is a loose fitting top, and it also helps to ground the separate prints.
4. Wear a tank extender layered under another top
I bought this particular tank extender a couple of years ago, and it was one of the best purchases! There are so many different things you can layer this with. I love to wear it with leggings because- lady bits- and if you have a shirt that isn’t quite long enough, this is perfect to layer beneath so it enables you to have more options for what tops you can wear with leggings.

5. Wear with a long cardigan
This long black cardigan is probably one of the most worn thing in my closet. I bought it at Loft a few years ago, and it is definitely a wardrobe staple. I find myself reaching for it repeatedly, and that’s ok! Who can’t use a black long cardigan? It’s great to wear with leggings, and numerous other things.
6. Wear leggings with a tunic
A younger person might wear this tunic as a dress, but not me. This would be a little short for my taste and my profession. So I love to wear it layered over leggings! And as you can see, I am again styling this outfit with boots. You will also notice I am wearing a chambray vest. In my opinion this goes right with #2 above- wear it with a utility or cargo jacket. This particular vest is the same thing, just without sleeves. And it provides a bit of structure to this flowy tunic.
I have to say, I love the olive color of these solid Lularoe leggings. I have even worn these to barre class and they have been fabulous!
7. Wear them with sneakers
Sneakers are very trendy right now, and I love it, because they are just so comfortable! This photo below is the only one I have to share of this particular way I styled my leggings that day because the weather was not cooperating for me to get outside. But you can see I have again layered the lace tank extender under a shorter loose fitting sweater, and then I am wearing a flowy cardigan on top.
8. Wear them with booties
I love the way Molly styled this outfit below! Booties are a great option to wear with leggings! Notice that she is also covering her lady bits! She is pregnant in this picture, so Lularoe is also great for maternity, which is awesome.
9. wear them with a chambray shirt or a denim jacket
I love the way Molly wears her chambray shirt open layered over a tunic. I also think a denim jacket could be super cute worn in the same fashion.
Here is another example of pattern mixing. Jackie wears her printed leggings with striped and a pair of flats. And I love it! Also take note that she is covering her lady bits as well.
10. Wear them with sandals
The next two pictures below show two examples of how you can wear your leggings with sandals. Also, you can see the chambray come into play, and the pattern mixing that were both mentioned above. If you would like to make your leggings shorter, more capri length- here is a great tip for how to fold them to look shorter!
Here is an example of how to wear leggings with rain boots, which I just love, and it looks like in the picture below they are worn with a tunic.
This last outfit show another example of pattern mixing with florals and stripes. And also tall boots, and a black cardigan.
If you like it, then you wanna put a pin on it!
And there you have it, 10 ways to style Lularoe leggings (or any type of leggings)! What do you think of leggings, do you love them or hate them? How do you feel about wearing printed leggings? These are great tips. I love leggings.I haven’t tried the Luaroe leggings yet but I keep hearing how soft and comfortable they are. You have given me some great ideas and talked me into trying them.
Awesome Sherry! You will love them, I promise! Thanks so much for taking the time to say that!
OK…as ususal, I’m always on the ‘late’ train to what’s fashionable. But those leggings! Hmm…I think I could do that. I giggled about your lady bits comments…I know what you are talking about! And while we’re at it…what about those leggings that are sheer enough that you can see the undies underneath!? Don’t folks look in the mirror before they head out the door?
Thanks for the style tips.
Hugs, LYnn

I know what you mean. I guess we are old school not wanting people to see our underpants, aren’t we Lynn? Haha!
I love my leggings, but I only have solids and can’t picture me with prints…maybe polka dots, but no prints for me! They look great on all you younger gals and I thing anything you wear looks fabulous on you, Nicki!

Thanks Carol! I totally get that! These are definitely probably for women of a certain age, and when I am your age, I probably won’t be wearing flowered leggings either, haha! But you look fabulous at your age, I truly do think so. You are gorgeous!
Nikki, I have been one of those people slow to jump on the legging bandwagon and even slower to jump on the printed legging bandwagon, but you nailed it in your outfits with the both the print and the solid colored leggings. You are almost making me a convert! Ha, ha. Thanks for sharing these great ideas. – Amy

Thanks so much Amy! I am so happy to have inspired you! I know they are not for everyone, but I think they are cute, so I wanted to give them a try!
Sorry, but to me leggings look too much like tights or opaque pantie hose to be worn out in public. There are some leggings I’ve seen in catalogs that aren’t as tight and look like jeans or black slacks.
Even with the longer tops, and leggings underneath, it still looks like tights with a top. The cargo jacket does cover more.
It’s great to dress comfortably at home, but in public, I think modesty is important. You won’t print this, but just as an experiment, show your pics to men and listen to their responses. I showed them to the men in my family and their responses were, “What’s she trying to show?” “What is her point in this?” “Is she trying to give some kind of ‘come on’?” Etc.
I have no problem printing this Bev, you have a right to your opinion. And I have the right to disagree with you. I wear them all of the time, and my husband doesn’t think that at all. Neither do the husbands of my friends who wear them just as much. I don’t know if you actually read what I wrote or not, but I specifically spoke in the article about covering your assets and lady bits. So there is nothing showing in any of my photos or outfits, except my legs, which I am fine with. But you are welcome to your thoughts and opinions! And you are also welcome to either read my blog or not read it depending on your own style and personal preferences. I f I don’t like what someone is putting out there, I just pass it by and don’t bother to make any comments at all. Because if I don’t have something nice to say to someone, I just won’t say it. Have a good day!
Hey Bev, Seriously…To what end do you make comments like this? I spent my formative years in Hawaii and we had this Hawaiian-slang motto framed in our home , “if you no can nothing nice ’bout nobody, mo’ betta you say nothing at all.” I have taken this to heart over the years and encourage you to do the same.
On a related note, my very wise Grandma used to tell me that our differences are ‘what makes the world go ’round’. It be a very boring place if we all dressed the same and thought the same.
Open your mind and embrace the differences that we each bring to the table to make our world go ’round.
Nicki, I love your patterned tights! I’ve been so afraid to try them myself, but I always love how they look on other people. Thanks so much for sharing your tips for when I do get the courage to give them a try.

Thanks so much Robin! They can be daunting, I totally agree! I think the most important thing is to pair them with something that you feel adequately covered in. Wouldn’t want to upset Bev! Haha
