Today I am reminiscing about the past and sharing 5 of my favorite Christmas decorating ideas from Christmases past.
Hey friends! So, are any of you as obsessed with looking at all of the amazing Christmas decor and home tours that are out there to see right now? I could literally take a whole day off of work, and do nothing but look at the wonderful posts people are sharing with beautiful images of their Christmas homes. I spent most of last week getting my own home ready for Christmas, and I will be sharing it next week as part of a series that will last all week called the Christmas Tour Of Homes. There will be 28 of us participating and inviting you into our homes all decorated for Christmas, and I can hardly wait. Everything has been photographed and I am currently in the phase of editing my photos. But I am dying to share some Christmas cheer up in this joint, so today I have for you 5 of my favorite Christmas decorating ideas from Christmas’s past.
And in case you are wondering, the photo above is from my Christmas Home Tour last year.
As a blogger, part of the gig is to change things up each year, otherwise what is the point of sharing it? You can’t share the same exact thing every year, so I am always trying to have fresh ideas to share. But that doesn’t mean I go out and purchase everything brand new each year. I usually purchase a few new things each year, and then use things over again, just not in quite the same way. And I usually try to do one or two DIY projects for each season to share as well. So I thought it would be fun to share some of my favorites with you today. You can click the link above each photo to be taken directly to the post that I wrote for that particular thing. I also made the most adorable boho Christmas tree ornament as part of the 2017 Ornament Exchange blog hop. It just might be my favorite Christmas DIY ever!
This candy cane Christmas Tree is a DIY project I did for Christmas last year, and I am using it in my decor again for this year’s home tour. I still love the red and white stripes!
DIY Christmas Centerpiece With Sweater Bulbs
I used some old sweater from Goodwill to make these cute little sweater bulbs! I loved this centerpiece!
10 DIY Ways To Use Plaid In Your Christmas Decor
Plaid is still trending, especially at this time of the year, and I shared lots of ways to add plaid to your Christmas decor in this post. I still have lots of plaid touches in my decor this year too.
DIY Christmas Advent Calendar Garland
I made an advent calendar garland for the past two years, and I have to admit, I am still smitten with both of them! but I decided to go another route this year for my advent calendar. Stay tuned to find out what it is!
Pom Pom Snowball Christmas Ornament
I made this snowball ornament for the 2016 ornament exchange I participated in, and wouldn’t it be pretty to have several of these on a tree? Love!!
I hope you enjoyed this little flash back from Christmas’s past here at Sweet Parrish Place! I loved each one of these projects, and they are all timeless things that are great to have around for any Christmas, any year. Do you have any favorite that I shared here today? I would love to know what you liked the most! Please share in the comments! Also, if you follow me on Instagram, you can see some peeks at my upcoming Christmas Tour that will be happening on the blog next week.
