A Look Back At October At Sweet Parrish Place

Wow! I can’t believe it is already the second week of November! I haven’t even begun to get into the Christmas spirit yet, have you? I am trying to enjoy November, and Thanksgiving coming up, and looking forward to Thanksgiving Break. After Thanksgiving, I will get into Christmas mode. I think I might be the only blogger in America to say that. Ha!

How about instead of talking Christmas, we take a look back at what went on around this little blog in October, just to refresh our memories. Sound good?

I shared the vintage suitcase that LC bought me for my birthday in September. Still haven’t gotten that darn thing open though! I mean, not that I have tried yet or anything. I am a little slow on the uptake.

I became a contributor to JOYful Home & Life, and submitted my first contribution, my Fall Burlap Wreath.

I chose my Favorite Pinterest Pins for the month of September.

I made bats to hang over my fireplace for fall, and then I thought they looked a little lonely, so I made an autumn garland and brought in some branches from a tree that I picked up on a nature hike.

I showed you how I disguised an ugly boob light using a drum shade. You also got to see how my downstairs hallway/mudroom is looking now. Not completely finished but it has come a long way. I have since brought our winter scarves, hats and gloves back out and organized them in our bench so we can have easy access to them.

I participated in What I Wore Wednesday here, here, here, and here. And my favorite was not anything I wore. It was the vintage 1930’s gown my daughter wore to her senior homecoming. Just so unique!

I bought a new shoe cabinet from Ikea, and made cute fall framed art to help decorate the top of the cabinet. There is a reason why only part of that wall is painted, I promise!

Sweet Parrish Place celebrated it’s first anniversary! I reminisced about some of my best projects over the course of the year. That was a very happy occasion for me!

And last but not least, I put together a round up of 10 DIY Lighting Ideas.

All in all, it was not a bad month for Sweet Parrish Place. But bring on November! I get a week off in November, and I am hoping to squeeze in some painting, some family fun, and hosting Thanksgiving dinner for about 10 of us. After that, bring on the Christmas décor! Should be a good time! I hope you will come back and find out how November pans out around here!
