A Swedish Home Tour

If you have been reading my blog regularly, you already know that we have been hosting a foreign exchange student from Sweden since last August. Today is her last day with us. Tomorrow we take her to the airport. We love her and are very sad right now. I will talk more about the whole experience some other time, but today I want to share her family’s home in Sweden with you. I have been holding on to these pictures for months. But I thought today would be appropriate. I am hoping I can talk her into sending me some more of their lovely home after she arrives back in Sweden. And if she does, I will share them as well.

This is the Adding family home. These are the photos that she brought with her to show us how they live. They are not styled or made up for my blog. This is their house, the way it looks all of the time I suppose. And I think it is just lovely.

You can see in the next three pictures that the family got a new table and chairs in this room. I think they have bought this while she has been living with us, and have sent her a picture of the new table.

I love the new table! It really does make an improvement in the space, don’t you think? I also think she told me that the name of the table was Bridgeport, which is the name of the town we live in. Ironic!

These next few pictures are of Josefine’s bedroom. I bet she does miss it and will be happy to be back in her own room.

I always find it so interesting to see how other people live, especially in another country. And her family actually has purchased a new home recently that they will be moving into next spring. I guess they have work they want to do to the house before they move. It is right on the sea. I have seen pictures of it, and I may share them as well, if they don’t mind. I haven’t asked them yet. But I am hoping that once they move in they will send me pictures that I can share with you. It is a lovely and very old home.

I hope you enjoyed a glimpse into the home of the Adding family! And if you are the praying type, please pray for our family and for Our Swedish daughter. We will be saying a very sad and dreaded goodbye to her tomorrow morning. Miss 18 Year old is going to New York with she and her family for several days before they head back to Sweden. I know they will have a blast, and then hopefully a safe flight back home to Sweden.
