I have not had a lot of DIY projects to show you lately, but it is because I have been working on a project that is very tedious and is taking forever! I have mentioned here and here that I was planning a paint treatment for my backsplash. I divided it up into5 sections to make it a little easier, and now that I have two sections done, I have to show you a sneak peek. I am thrilled with the results! Check out how they are turning out!
Update: This backsplash is now completely finished! To see the full results, click here!
Here are a couple of pictures to show you the process.
And here is another picture of one of the finished sections.

More progress…

Oh my goodness this is AMAZING! I can't believe how it looks like real tile. I can't wait to see the finished project. I am visiting from Hometalk!
You have no idea how validating to read that! Seriously, thank you so much for saying that. I love your spring wreath, I pinned it!
OMG, this is amazing!!! You can pat yourself on the back for a job well done. It looks so real.
OMG, KIM! I am jumping up and down over your comment! I just look up to your blog so much and am overjoyed that you like it. You soooo made my evening! Thank you thank you thank you!
This is unbelievable!!! Really – what an incredible job you did on this – you'd never know it wasn't subway tile!!!
Visiting from Shabby Nest!
Big hugs,
Suzan
Thank you so much! It makes me so happy to read that other people are digging it! I just checked out your blog. Too cute!
Your backsplash looks fabulous. I really like the color you picked for the grout lines, it ties in beautifully with your stainless steal appliances. I can't wait to see the details on how you did this.
Traci
Thank you Traci! The color on the grout lines is the same color I painted the rest of the wall, except for the little nook. I promise to post a tutorial when it is finished, someday!
I love it! I'm sure it's tedious but will be so worth it.
The amount of time this takes is, well, a long ass time! But I am so glad that you like it!
WoW!!! This is awesome! Definitely looks like subway tile! Definitely some patience and time in this job but it looks amazing! Can't wait to see the finished result! ๐
Thanks again Kristina, and I can't wait to show the finished result. And to finally have at least one room in this house that I can call dunzo!
Great job – it looks good. I am wondering what your ideas are for where it ends? Will you be putting a moulding piece or something else? I like how you used glossy paint to look like tile. Well done!
Thank you so much! There is only one place where I had to tape off and make sure the line is very straight at the end of the cabinets. I think I am going to leave it just like it is, I think it looks fine. Everywhere else it just goes right up to the wall. I am just doing the back walls under the cabinets, I am not going to turn the corner and go out any further from the back wall, if you know what I mean. I am afraid if I do it won't look right.
LOVE it! I also painted my backsplash after being inspired by Beth and Nick! Isn't a great alternative to real tile??

Thank you! Yours looks amazing too! I am thinking of painting my counters too, but I will wait and see. They are just a neutral cream color, so I am afraid of ruining them!
WOW! What a great job. When I first saw it, I thought it was real. You must have more patience than me. LOL.
Thanks Rom! It takes a long time, that is why I broke it down into small sections. Anything is possible if you take baby steps! If I tried to o this all at once it would have been a big fail for me!
What a fabulous transformation!! Love how it looks so very much!
Thank you so much, for reading my blog and for the comment. I am glad you like it!
WOW and WOW! This is an amazing transformation.
Thank you Tina! I can't wait until it is all finished!
loving the look! keep going, looking forward to the tips you'll share with us! Little Bit from http://www.DecorateWithaLittleBit.com
Thank you! I love your lights! I hope to get it done by the week of spring break!
Congratulations on being featured over at "Savvy Southern Style" at Kim's "Wow Us Wednesday" blog party. Your backsplash looks amamzing! It IS a lot of work but maybe (like childbirth) you'll forget how bad it was during the process and just enjoy the results for years.
LOL! That was funny. I so appreciate your nice comment, and just the fact that you visited my blog. Thanks!
Unbelievable! I am so amazed. So glad you were featured because your backsplash really is WOW! ~Delores

It looks so amazing! I think it will be worth the effort in the end…. You are doing a great job, I don't know if I could have that much patience! Way to go!
Thank you so much for visiting my little blog! WE had a professional painter over here today giving us an esitmate for painting our cathedral ceiling and he gave it big props. That was a great compliment coming from him. I think he wanted to offer me a job, LOL!
