Christmas Entryway and Advent Calendar Garland

Hi all! Can you believe that Christmas is less than two weeks away? I’m still not finished shopping. I am starting to panic, how about you? It just really snuck up on me this year, and I’m trying not to worry too much about it. I am sure it will all get done somehow, right? I’m not really here to talk about my mad rush to get everything done though, I am here to show you my Christmas Entryway! You will notice some small differences here and there in some of these pictures. Because I took pictures on three different occasions, and there was some tweaking involved! I’m going to try to keep this post short on words again for this tour, and just let you enjoy the pictures. Here we go, welcome into my home! If you look at the very first picture at the top of the post, it is different than the next, and the one below. I first added the garland. This is a store bought garland, and I added lights and the burlap ribbon and red tweed bows. I love it! But then I made all of these cute little red bags to hang as an advent calendar- just another thing I was really late on. Well, I couldn’t find anyplace to hang them and one evening it just hit me to try hanging them from my garland, and so I did, and I just think they look adorable!

I made these bags with some bags I bought at Big Lots for $3 for an 8 pack, and some chalkboard tags that I also bought there. I cut the bags in half, and hot glued the handles back inside to make them shorter, and then I folded down about an inch or so at the top so you can see the brown paper inside. Added numbers to the tags, and tied them on. Inside there are chocolates that the kids can have after school.

If you look at the above and below picture, you will see that I also changed this white hanging bucket from white poinsettias to red ones, and I added a black plaid scarf spilling out the front.

I used this Hello Deer print last year on my Christmas Mantle, and this year I put it in this Pottery Barn Frame and added a plaid ribbon as sort of a mat. I also tied a plaid scrap around the gold foil tree with a piece of jute twine. The black and white plaid was from a thrifted skirt that I cut up.

This is my upstairs hallway, which is to the left as soon as you top the stairs. Have you seen my DIY Rustic Wood Wall? I thought this plaid Merry banner was just perfect on this wall. This banner is a free printable that I got from Chelsie at Making Home Base. I love to take advantage of using free printables in my seasonal decor when I find cute ones that I like, because to be honest, I simply don’t know how to create this awesomeness in a printable. I am not that technologically advanced I guess. Ha!

You guys, Christmas is like 11 days away, and I still have more of my Christmas Home tour to share, Eeeeek! Oh well, I will be back with more for you soon, hopefully before Christmas is over. Just kidding, I’ll squeeze it all in on time I’m sure. But right now, I haven’t written any fashion posts, or other posts that I usually write on a regular basis. I promise after all of the madness that is Christmas is over, I will be back to my regular posting schedule, and back to my fashion posts. And I will have lots to share, because even though I haven’t written a fashion post in a few weeks, I have still been taking pictures of what I am wearing, so it will all be shared soon enough! Things are finally slowing down enough for me to actually sit down and write the posts I need to write, and I finally feel like I can start relaxing and enjoying this holiday season, and remembering that Jesus, my Lord and Savior, is the reason for the season. And when I think about that one fact, nothing else really truly matters! Happy Tuesday!
