Meet My Family

Hi all!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  Our weekend was jam packed with two choir concerts, a Christmas play, an ugly Christmas sweater party, my Grandad’s 90th birthday party (go Grandad!), a little Christmas shopping, and a meal with some of LC’s family.  Needless to say, no rest was involved.  But we did get to spend time with family and friends, and although we were tired last night and this morning, all in all, it was a great weekend.

We even found some time to take some family pictures, which I have been wanting to do for over a year now.  Today, I wanted to share our family pictures, and one of these made the cut for our Christmas cards (which I just ordered on Saturday night- they may be a little late this year).  We took these pictures way out in Kincheloe, where my dad grew up, on my great Aunt Mary Lou’s farm.  We had to dodge a few cow patties along the way, but I am so happy with the way they turned out!  We used my tripod and a timer to do these pictures, no photographer involved!  And I think it was a success!  I am going to frame some of them for sure!  I hope you enjoy the pictures!  I am hoping to bring you more of my Christmas Home Tour tomorrow and later this week.

 

This is us with my Grandad, Robert Paugh.  We celebrated his 90th birthday this past weekend.  He lives in a nursing home, but we took him out for the day and he really enjoyed it.  I think there were almost 50 people there to celebrate with him.  He is still sharp as a tack by the way.  He was telling me on Saturday about when I was born, and when my parents left to move to Okinawha when I was just two weeks old.  And they thought they were never going to see me again.  He still remembers it all like it was yesterday, and that is amazing, especially because he has survived more than one bout with cancer, a 6 way bypass, and many complications after that.  He is one tough cookie, and he loves the Lord, that is for sure.  And he is very loved by many children, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.  I am one lucky girl to have him as my grandfather.
