Here is some cozy Fall decor inspiration and tips to help you get motivated for your Fall decorating this year.

Hey friends! Let’s take a walk down memory lane today at some cozy Fall decor from my home from the past two Autumns. Have you started thinking about decorating for Fall yet? Have you already taken the plunge and started? Or do you wait a little longer to decorate for Fall?

As a blogger, it is my job to try to stay ahead of the game and get started early, so as to inspire all of you each season. So this past weekend I painted some pumpkins! I have also went shopping and shared a few odds and ends I bought for my Fall decor, which I shared in my Instagram stories over the weekend. So far, I am just preparing to decorate for Fall, but this coming weekend I am actually going to get started. So I have been busy pinning ideas, and you can follow my Fall Decor Board on Pinterest if you would like.

I thought it would be fun to take a walk down memory lane today and share some of my favorite Fall decor from my own home over the past two years. Like I said, I will be decorating and photographing my Fall decor for this year soon as well, so stay tuned for it! But in the meantime, enjoy some Fall inspiration from the past two seasons at Sweet Parrish Place. You can see my 2016 Fall Home Tour here.

As I look back on these photos of my Fall 2016 dining room, I am reminded about just how much has changed around here in the past couple of years. We did a mini makeover on this room last winter, and it looks different now, although the table hasn’t changed, it is a goal to paint this one.
I love these amber jars, and they will be showing back up this year for sure! As a matter of fact, this will be my third year using them, and I love them still. But I want to do something a little different with them this year, and I haven’t settled on anything just yet. Any suggestions? What would you fill these amber bottles with?

I usually pick up a few bouquets that have a mix of flowers I like in them, and then I deconstruct them and make my own flower arrangements. One tip I have learned since 2016, is to add some water to your vases to makes things look more real. Such an easy thing to do that boosts your decor a tad. Those marbled pumpkins were a Target dollar spot find, and you may see them pop up again this year as well.
Two years ago, I went with a pretty traditional Fall color scheme. But you can see a few white pumpkins tucked in here and there. I may still use the fall branches in my decor this year, but in a different way. You can purchase these types of branches at most local craft stores, and they are so easy to pop into a container, zhush a little, and instant Autumn! This buffet and the mirror hanging above have both been painted since these photos were taken. You can see the miraculous transformation here! The orange pumpkin you see in the photo below has been painted a different color for this Fall, any guesses as to what color it now is?

I love using thrifted and vintage finds in seasonal decor. This little orange dish I found at a yard sale always makes an appearance in the Fall. It just looks so much like a pumpkin! And even though I am planning a little bit of a different color scheme this year, I will make this work somewhere! The painting in the background is a thrifted find, as is the painting you see if you scroll up to the second photo in this post. I love using thrifted art as seasonal pieces!

I made the wooden pumpkins you see displayed here on our front stoop. They were free and super easy! I still have them, and you will see them again at some point I’m sure. I also made the Fall wreath hanging on my front door. And for Halloween, I just hung the skeleton up on the door hanger, and it looked cute with the wreath.

One super easy way to cozy up your home for Fall is to scatter a few cozy throws about. I have this furry creamy throw that I bring out each year. You can also see a plaid throw peeking out of a basket next to the fireplace.

Let’s move onto last years Fall Home. You can see my 2017 Fall living room here, and my 2017 entryway and mudroom decorated for Fall here. I simplified a little from 2016 to 2017, and didn’t put out as much stuff. I love these cotton stems and think they are perfect for Fall.
I added this vintage wicker wall hanging to my decor last Fall. Truth be told, it is hiding a hole in the wall. That’s right, my teenager put a fist through the wall, and we haven’t fixed it yet. Good times! But I loved this Fall looking scene on this wall hanging. the owner literally took it off of his wall and gave it to me when I commented how much I liked it!
I had fun scattering some neutral pumpkins around our mudroom. and a basket of sunflowers hanging from a hook is all this space needed. This was my first time getting to decorate this area for an actual season. I made over this space during the winter of 2017, and you can see the full reveal here.
Adding some feathers to a bottle like I did in this next photo is a simple way to bring a Fall vibe.
And this is my mantle from last year. I decided to wrangle all of the amber containers I had and make a little collection. I used the flowers I had used for my 2016 Fall dining table, but for 2017 I added in some shades of blush. I just mixed and matched the florals together.
I had fun looking about at some of my past cozy Fall decor for this post, and I hope you had fun seeing it, maybe again, or maybe for the first time. I like to reuse things, so this year you will see familiar things in my Fall decor, but they will be used in different ways and different vignettes. And of course, I always have to add a few new items. So I sure do hope you will some back and visit me when I post my Fall Home Tour. At this point, I do not have exact dates, but I imagine they will be hitting the blog sometime in the next few weeks. But you can always catch sneak peeks on Instagram!

Your home tour is lovely dear friend. Every space is perfect, my fav though, is the one with the dog and the beautiful artwork in the back.

Thank you so much! That art work is a thrifted piece, and the dog used to belong to my husband’s grandma. As a child it was one of his favorite things at his grandma’s house, and now it is ours. So it is very special!
