Hey friends! I’ve been a little absent from the blog this past week because my husband was traveling for work, and it just happened to be one of the busiest weeks ever. From track to the children’s chorus Mr. 8 Year Old is in, this past week began the culmination of it all with rehearsals from Spring concerts to track regionals, I had a lot of running around to do. Good news though! Mr. 16 Year Old made it to the state championship track meet in the 4 x 800 relay event! We have 2 concerts this weekend, and the state championships next weekend, and then I will have much more down time to work on the blog and some projects I haven’t had time for lately. Today I am here to talk to you about denim vests though! I bought my denim vest last Spring, and it has been on repeat in my wardrobe ever since. I think it is just as much on trend as it was when I bought it, so today I thought I would share 8 ways that I have styled a denim vest, and there are still an endless amount of ways that I haven’t styled one. But hopefully this post today will inspire you to try wearing a denim vest!
This first look is the most recent way I have styled my denim vest. This skirt is a new purchase for Spring, and I bought it at Gap. It is such a versatile skirt, and I need to write a post just like this one all about this skirt. I love it that much! You might also notice my awesome lace up ballet flats I am wearing here. If you follow me on Instagram or have read the post I wrote about My 20 Favorite Spring Fashion Trends, then you know these ballet flats were high on my wish list for Spring shopping, and I love this pair that I found at Zara. And for only $39.90, they were a great buy! And just in case you are wondering, they are super duper comfortable, and they do not squeeze my toes at all. I could easily walk in these all day with no problems. And oh, say hello to my new heart shaped sunnies! Aren’t they adorable? Well, that is if you are into hearts, which I just happen to be into them, so I’m loving this pair that I found at Nordstrom, and for only $12!

For this second look, I styled it with a pair of cream poplin pants I bought at Loft. The yellow top, I have had for years, and of course these leopard sneakers are one of my faves, and they are on repeat a lot.

For the third look, I kept it simple with a black maxi skirt and a white shirt. Add a colorful scarf for a pop of color and you are good to go. And most women probably already have these items in their wardrobe.

This fourth look isn’t too far off from the first look, but still different. For this look I wore a striped peplum top and a pencil skirt with a front pleat. I also added this hot pink beaded necklace for a pop of color.

My fifth look was kept looking casual, although these grey polka dot pants I’ve had for a couple of years can also be styled to look pretty dressy. I dressed them down with this flowy tee and sneakers.

My sixth look is very similar to my third look. Same concept with a black skirt and white shirt, but this time I wore a shorter skirt and flip flops.

For the 7th outfit, I chose to style my vest with a vintage dress that I have had for a couple of years. I feel like this was a good mix of modern and vintage with the denim vest and the booties.

For the 8th and last outfit, I love this floral tunic dress! I styled this outfit for late winter, so I was still able to wear this summery dress by layering a black turtleneck and leggings under this dress, and then adding the denim vest on top.

So, are you falling in love with the idea of adding a denim vest to your wardrobe yet? Or do you already own one? Which of these eight looks is your favorite? I would love to know what you think in the comments! I love your comments and I read every one! I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the different ways I have styled my denim vest today, and I made this collage of some great denim vest options, you know, just in case you feel like buying one today! I bought mine last Spring at Hollister. On a side note, I just realized that I have my hair pulled back in all of these pictures, I promise I wear it down a lot too! Ha! Have a great Saturday friends!
