Hey all! I am not a huge decorator when it comes to Valentines Day. I usually do a few things, if any at all. This year, I was inspired to make something that I could display for Valentines day. but I wanted it to be something that I could keep out all year around if I wanted to. So of course, being the Pinterest addict that I am, I took to Pinterest to find something to get my creative juices flowing. And I found the perfect thing that I wanted to make! This adorable DIY canvas love art!
I am not even going to take credit for this fabulous creation, because all of the credit belongs to Lauren Rene at Hey Lauren Rene Blog. She was the one who originally created this and I pretty much just got inspired to recreate it. Here is the Pin if you would like to view it.
I am not going to write a tutorial for how I made this, because she has a tutorial for it on her blog. So if you want to make one for yourself, hop on over there! She has a list of all the supplies you will need, and she explains the whole process very well.
I purchased all of the supplies for this project at AC Moore for around $20. I did purchase a jar of red glitter that I was going to use for the heart, and decided not to. I was afraid that would look too Valentines Day-ish, and I didn’t want that. I had a difficult time finding the wooden letters I needed. I think everyone and their mother was at AC Moore recently buying up all of the L-O-V-E letters! The ones I used were the only ones in the store that had all three letters I needed.
I changed things up a bit by using a heart instead of an O. Lauren Rene, although she used an O, also gave me the idea to use the heart in her post. Nope! Can’t take credit for that bright idea either!
I will give you one lonely little tip that she does not share with you though. And this comes courtesy of Mr. 14 Year Old. I was making this yesterday, and trying to draw straight lines on the canvas with a pencil, so that I could tape them off. I was failing miserably on the very first line. And he told me to measure down 2 inches and put a small line on the left side, and do the same thing on the right side, then just use my yard stick to connect the lines. Genius ( I mean, he did come out of my belly)! That worked wonderfully, so thanks to him for that. And hopefully, if you have never thought to do that either, now you will know!
So there you have it. Sometimes you don’t have to come up with the idea all on your own. I give you permission to recreate something that you love off of Pinterest. And I LOVE this DIY Love canvas. I may not have been the brains behind the idea, but it sure does look good in my entryway!
Have a great week!

This is so cute! It’s perfect for Valentine’s Day, but I love that the colors are neutral enough to use anytime of the year. 🙂 Thanks for sharing at Sweet Inspiration!
Thank you so much Amy!
