Fashion is one of my favorite things, as you may know, and I love when seasons change because I get to change my wardrobe. In the past few years I have become much more focused when it comes to my wardrobe. I try to purchase staple items that can be mixed and matched, and classic items that will last for years to come. Maybe the fact that I am over 40 has something to do with it? I guess getting old just does that to a woman, I am much more interested in practicality, and stretching my money as far as I can when it comes to my wardrobe.
Every season I take to the internet before the season gets started, and I do my research about what is on trend for the season for women my age, and I love to share it with you! So if you are a woman 40 or over, this is your one stop post for everything you want to know when it comes to Fall shopping! I’ve already done all the work for you, so you can just read this post, and shop, easy peasy! And even if you are not over 40, I have a feeling you will still like some of this stuff! My 19 year old daughter and I interchange a lot of things in our wardrobes! So don’t count yourself out!Ready to get stylish this Fall? Let’s go! In each category, I have given you both a high end and a low end option of each item, hence the “high” and “low” you will be seeing below.
High Waisted Flare Leg Jeans

Yep! You read that right! Flared jeans are making a comeback, and I am praising the good Lord! I never stopped liking them for a second, and I kept pretty much all of mine! So I am doing a happy dance this Fall. But the even better part is that the flared jeans of today are high waisted! Hallelujah! Those low waisted flared jeans from the 1990’s that I always thought were the most uncomfortable things on the planet are things of the past, and I am so glad, can I get an amen? High wasted and flared are wear it’s at ladies, go get some! Or better yet, pull your old ones out of the attic, or the back of your closet if you still have them. This is not to say that skinny jeans are goners, because they are sticking around for a while I am guessing, but let’s face it, some people just don’t look good in skinny jeans, and some people just don’t like them, so now they have another option. I personally like both, and am happy to wear both.
Wear it With: a button down, a blazer, a flowy top, a vest, a kimono, or something structured. There are so many options people! Be careful about the length of your flare jeans too. You may need different lengths for different heel heights. Your jeans should be long enough that they cover most of your shoes (just the toe peeking out, without actually touching the floor. As for what shoes to wear with a flared jean, the sky is the limit, really! You can wear any type of heels, wedges, stilettos, platforms, or you can wear flats or sneakers. Just remember you may need a longer length of flare jeans for the heels and a shorter length for the flat shoes.
Try this more expensive pair (high), or this less expensive option (low)
