It’s finally Spring, (although it doesn’t quite feel like it around here) and I am super excited today to bring you my fresh colorful Spring Home Tour.
Hey friends! Do you share my enthusiasm for Spring? I’ve said it a thousand times, and I’ll say it a thousand more, but it’s my very favorite time of the year. I have been feeling more cheerful and energetic ever since the time change, and knowing that it is finally Spring has me feeling all the feels! I have a fresh colorful Spring home tour to share with you today, and I was beginning to question whether I was going to pull this one off or not, but I finally rallied and got it done. I honestly think this winter was the longest winter I can remember, and not just because of the weather. I have been feeling in a slump and out of sorts, especially when it comes to blogging. But I am happy to report I finally feel the cloudy haze that has been in my head start to clear. I really hope you enjoy my tour today because I love decorating for Spring!
If you aren’t into decorating your entire house for Spring, but just want to add a few touches here and there, you can read my 5 Ways to Add a Spring Touch To Your Decor. All of these ideas are simple and take no time at all.
Split Level Entryway
Tulips are my favorite flowers, and when I came across this basket full of white tulips last weekend at Marshall’s, I knew it would be perfect for my front door. I think I will add a pretty bow to it at some point, but haven’t gotten to it just yet. I love the hanging basket, and if the tulips start to show their age, I can pull them out and fill this pretty basket up with something else. So I think I will get a lot of use out of this.
I also found the cute gold bunny at Marshall’s. I always find something there that I like, it is hard to leave that place empty-handed! The succulent was on my front stoop last summer, and I brought it inside for winter. I am happy to report that I have kept it alive, and it seems to be thriving! I like to use the frame that hangs here to display seasonal types of decor, and I am really into using free printables that I find online for seasonal types of stuff like this. I love this one that I found that has Spring essentials. You can find it and download it by clicking here. I just taped this onto the glass using washi tape. I added some yellow flowering branches for an instant Spring vibe.
My sofa table sits right at the top of the stairs, and during the winter, I changed out the art that had been hanging over this table for years and added a vintage window that is currently just leaning against the wall. I love this change, and it provides a neutral backdrop that allows me a lot of flexibility with the decor here.
I love to change out my letterboard for the seasons. This letterboard was a bit of a DIY project that you can read all about here. I added another cute Spring printable to the window as well. I just think it’s so cute with the striped umbrella and rain boots. You can print one for yourself by clicking here.
On the letterboard I added “my soul is made up of tulips dogwood trees and fields of flowers”. Those truly are three of my favorite things about Spring!
I added a few Spring touches to the bookcase that also sits at the top of the stairs as well. The art hanging above is a thrift store find that is perfect for Spring.
Living Room
As you turn right at the top of the stairs you will find yourself heading into the living room. This is where we hang out on a daily basis. This fireplace is one of the biggest changes we have made to this room over the years. It started as just a black box in the wall, and we added the AirStone surround and the rustic mantle. Finishing the fireplace made this house feel like our home. I kept the color scheme fairly neutral on the mantle for Spring, adding just a few touches of red. I am in love with the fringe I used here as a garland.
The little white houses you see are from the Hearth and Hand line at Target, and they can be used as bud vases. I added a single red rose to each vase. But these were also on my mantle during Winter, and I didn’t add flowers at all. This little duck family was found when I was scavenging through a garage full of junk. I just think they are adorable and add a perfect Spring touch.
This gallery wall has been a work in progress over the years, and I am about to change it up a little. I still want to keep some aspects, but some things I have grown tired of. So it is due for a little refresh soon. I will be sure to share it with you! Since I used some pops of red on the mantle, I sprinkled in some more pops of red around the room as well. You can see a red and white striped vase on a side table, and a pop of red on the sofa in a throw pillow.
One of the few things I purchased new for Spring this year are these pink blossoming branches. Just stick them in a vase, fluff them a little, and voila, instant Spring!
Dining Room
I recently completed a $100 Makeover in our dining room, and it is now one of my favorite rooms in the house. If you are into budget renovations, you have to read my full reveal post. I was able to completely transform this room on a very tight budget.
This DIY painted buffet is one of the biggest transformations in the space, and I did it for free using paint I had on hand. I honestly can’t believe I waited so long to finally transform this piece of furniture. And I am completely in love with the transformation! It’s such a more fun place to decorate now. You can find a tutorial for this cute DIY bunny garland that I have hanging on the mirror.
Another thing on this buffet that has been made over is the vintage tool box that was also a free find for me.
I collected jars and vases until I had enough to make this cohesive collection, and then I painted them all with sea glass paint, and I just love the way these shine in the sunlight! They pop up somewhere in my home every year for Spring and Summer. This year they landed on my dining table filled with pink blooms. I placed all of them on this white wooden tray. I love using trays and pedestals in my decor to make things look more cohesive or to give height to some objects. It just makes things feel a tad more special.
I’m so happy you joined me today for my fresh colorful Spring home tour! I do have a couple of more areas I will be sharing with you for Spring if I can get to them. We are currently preparing for our biggest renovation yet, our kitchen! I am so excited about it. We aren’t doing a complete gut job, but we are making some important updates, like new counters and painting the cabinets. So stay tuned because I will be sharing our progress as we move forward. Have a great weekend!
