There is just something about a black and white gingham dress that makes me feel good, and I have gathered some fantastic ones today for Style Files.
Gingham bell sleeve dress | ballet flats
Hey friends! I hope you are enjoying your week. After a long Winter and an unpredictable Spring, I’m excited that Summer finally is approaching! How about you? My son’s last day of school is Friday, and I still have to work until June 22, but the end is in sight my friends!
I have a really fun gingham dress to share with you for today’s Style Files. I am drawn to black and white gingham. I can’t explain it, but when I am shopping, it just seems to pop out at me. I wore this dress a couple of weeks ago for my oldest son’s baccalaureate, but I also wore it for Easter. You can see how I styled it for Easter here. If you love black and white gingham, but this style of gingham dress just isn’t for you, you can find several different gingham dress options at the bottom of this post.

This dress is just so easy to wear. Obviously, I love the gingham pattern, but also, I love the tiered, flowy fit, and I love the bell sleeves! This dress is so easy to throw on for tons of occasions, and looks cute with wedges, flats, or strappy heels. This dress is a lightweight viscose material that almost has a gauzy feel. I happened to find this dress at one of my favorite stores, Marshall’s. The brand of the Dress is Beach Lunch Lounge. Love that brand name!
I am usually always a medium, but they only had this dress in a small, so I bought it anyway, and it fits fine, which I figured it would because of how loose the fit is. It is slightly tight across the chest, but not to the point of being uncomfortable. I love the fact that this dress has a bracelet length sleeve because lots of times (almost always) I get chilly in air conditioning, so the sleeves add a bit of warmth, but it still breathes. And they are the perfect bracelet length.
this is one of those dresses that I feel really great in. And I have been slowly purging my closet for the last year or so to rid myself of everything I don’t feel good in. But this one is a dress that will stay in my closet for years. I am so glad that I happened upon it on the day I did, because it was meant to be my dress. If you know me at all, you could probably look at this gingham dress and say, that looks like something Nicki would wear, and you would be 100% correct!
I have linked a boat load of other gingham dresses here for your shopping convenience. If you love this pattern and want to add some of it to your wardrobe, you are sure to find one below. Happy shopping!
