It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like…

December 12, 2012 By Nicki 1 Comment

I have been really busy trying to get my Christmas decorating on up in this house!  I thought I would show you just a couple of things I have done, and there is more to come in the next few days.  Christmas Break cannot come fast enough around here!  I worked my buns off over Thanksgiving and this break is going to be all about rest, relaxation, and family time.

Update 11/01/14:  See my Christmas 2013 Home Tour here.

This is my lantern all dressed up for Christmas.  I moved it to the island in my kitchen.  I bought a couple of little Christmasy sprigs at AC Moore and just stuck them down in there and tied a red bow lined with gold.  It looks orangey in the picture, but it is not.  I also wrapped a little sparkly ribbon around the candle inside.

And this is my Dickens Christmas village.  It has a home on my dining room buffet every Christmas.  I collected one per year until I filled up the buffet and stopped.  This year I added a little lighted garland behind, a wooden tree, a little glass tree, and the other trees come with the pieces of the Dickens Village.

Here are some close up shots of the village

And here are some close ups of the lighted garland.

And here is a little bit of what is yet to come in an upcoming post.  I bought four of these darling mercury glass bulbs to hang from my dining room chandelier,

And I had the hardest time hanging those little suckers!  EEEEK!!!  Here is what happened…

And this happened 5 minutes after I cleaned up the first one, well, more like two minutes…

What a huge bummer!  I think I should stick with non glass bulbs, at least if I am gonna hang them over my chandelier.

Thought about getting rid of my Dickens Village. I was gonna ask if you would be interested, but looks like you have the same pieces I have.
