June and July Review

I am feeling very melancholy as I write this. In case you don’t know, I do actually have a full time job as a school counselor. I love my job, and one of the best parts is that I am able to be at home with my children all summer. But today is the day that I return back to work. So in a sense, summer is over for me. At least, the part where I get to sleep in and spend days at the pool with Mr. 6 Year Old. Where did the time go? Here is a June and July review of what went on at Sweet Parrish Place during my summer break.

I shared my summer deck.

I painted some old faded plastic chairs and gave them new life.

I share part one of our experience hosting a foreign exchange student. I need to get on part two of that! I have been really struggling this summer because she is gone, and I miss her so!

I shared my DIY bathroom shelves I made from old wooden magazine holders.

I shared a round up of 5 trashtastic treasures from around blog land.

I painted another door black. That makes my third one, and I want to do all of my doors!

I shared the progress in our master bathroom. Still so much to do in this room!

We celebrated our 2 year anniversary of living in this house. And I shared 2 years of changes around here.

I showed you how to install and grout vinyl floor tiles. I am loving the ones I installed!

I showed you how to make a chalkboard tray from an old silver tray.

That is a lot of outfits! The picture below is just one of them. I wore this dress to LC’s 40th birthday party.

That pretty much sums up my Sweet Parrish Place summer break. It seems like it was over in the blink of an eye. Did I accomplish everything I wanted to at home? Not really. But did I make some wonderful memories with my family? Absolutely! We had a great summer, and although I am sad to see it end, I have memories that I will cherish in my heart forever, and that is what matters.
