My DIY Burlap Wreath for Fall

November 17, 2014 By Nicki Leave a Comment

How many times have I shared my DIY Burlap Wreath with you on the blog now?  Is anyone counting?  Well, I just did, and it is five to be exact, and today makes six!  And it just never gets old!  Well, it doesn’t get old in my book, anyway.

And how many of you are already over Fall Décor and have already moved on to Christmas?  I know I know, I am a little late on posting this, but I simply forgot to get it on the blog.  So, I am quick showing it to you today (I mean it isn’t even Thanksgiving yet people!).  If you like it, Pin it and save it till next Fall!

This DIY Burlap wreath is one of my favorite DIY Projects that I have done since starting this blog.  And the reason is that it is so versatile!  I keep it out all year long, but I change it out with the seasons.  It is kind of like playing dress up for adult women!  If you want to know exactly how I made this wreath, you can find the tutorial here.  And it really is fairly easy to make, so don’t be afraid to give this one a try, I knocked it out in a couple of hours, and you can too!

As you can see, my wreath is hanging out on my kitchen door right now.  And if you are a very perceptive person, you might notice that there are two different ribbons it is hanging from.  The sheer white ribbon was what I hung it from for Spring and Summer, and I didn’t get around to changing it to green for Fall until a little late.  This isn’t the first time I used Sunflowers on this wreath either.  I adorned it with Sunflowers and used it as décor for Miss 18 Year Old’s graduation party in May.  And then over the summer I just left it naked.  And I like it without any decoration too.  I think it looks pretty just plain and simple, hanging from a sheer white ribbon, which is how I kept it all summer.

But then Fall rolled around, and I decided to do somewhat of a sunflower theme for my Fall Home Tour, only I didn’t have this wreath quite finished when I posted my home tour, hence, why I am sharing it with you today!  So I broke out some more of my sunflowers ( I have quite the stash of them from the graduation party), some colorful Fall leaves, and some mustard colored clusters that I bought at AC Moore.

One of the things I love about this wreath is how easy it is to decorate.  If something has a stem, all you have to do is stick it down into the burlap, and it stays.

I simply took three sunflowers (two that are the same, and one that is a little different), and stuck them down into the burlap.  Next, I placed some colorful leaves around them.  And lastly, I stuck in my mustard colored beaded twigs.  And that is how simple it was, DONE!

And I quite like the way my DIY Fall Burlap wreath looks this Fall hanging out on my kitchen door.  Oh, and have you seen my vintage bar cart that I made over for our kitchen?  You can see it in the picture below.  I am really enjoying it and the extra storage it provides in my small kitchen.

I made a little Pinnable collage of all of the different outfits my DIY burlap wreath has worn over the last couple of years for you.  And there are links below to each, in case you want to read details about how I decorated each one.

Now that I am looking at all of my burlap wreath’s together in one collage, I am trying to decide which one I like best.  I am partial because I like them all, but I think this one just might be my favorite.  Which one is your favorite?  Please tell me in the comments.
Have a fantastic week!  This is my last week of work before I get 9 days off for Thanksgiving Break. And I have BIG PLANS people!  I am going to be entertaining in my home twice over break, and working on a huge DIY project- installing our fireplace surround (you can see our rustic barn beam mantle here)!  So things are going to be completely hectic, but hopefully I will have a beautiful, finished fireplace to decorate just in time for Christmas.  Stay tuned! This is where I party:
