My Organization Station With Post-it®

I rarely write anything about my actual job. Yes! I have a full time job outside of blogging. I am a middle school counselor. Each year, I work with students who have difficulty with organization. I have also had groups of students that I meet with on a weekly basis to help them stay organized throughout the school year. I find that being part of this group does help. They bring all of their papers, their binders, and their planners, and spend the group time getting and keeping themselves organized. I always purchase different organizational school supplies that I let them use. They really enjoy this, and it keeps them inspired to try harder. I think it also helps them to know that I am checking up on them and looking at their organization and their planners. This year, I decided to make an organization station full of 3M Products that I could take with me to the group!

Below is a photograph of all of the different items I used to fill my baskets. I work in a school that has many low income students, and sometimes, their parents can’t afford to purchase little extra things like this, so I like to provide these little things to keep them excited to stay organized. We are lucky that our County has voted for an excess levy that helps us purchase things like this that the students need as well.

Sometimes, it’s the little things like this that help to show kids that there is someone at school who cares about how they are doing. It helps me to connect with them on a more personal level, so they feel comfortable asking me if they need help.

All of these items were purchased at my local Walmart. I must admit, I have a secret addiction to the school and office supply aisles!
