Plaid Inspired Christmas Living Room

December 9, 2015 By Nicki Leave a Comment

Hi all!  I am here this evening to show you the parts of my living room all decorated for Christmas that you haven’t seen yet.  So far, I have shared my plaid inspired Christmas Tree and my rustic woodland Christmas Mantle.  So tonight, I am going to show you some more up close and personal details of my living room this year.  I have lots of pictures to share with you, so I am going to keep my words few and far between and just let you enjoy scrolling through the pictures.  If you have any questions about anything you see here tonight, please feel free to ask away in the comments!Click the following links to see the rest of my Christmas home tour.  Christmas living room  R

We purchased new furniture for our living room recently, and you can read all about what we bought here.

I found the “believe wish hope”  garland at Marshalls and the red pom pom garland at Target this year.

The plaid pocket you see on my sequined pillow is from a flannel shirt I thrifted and tore up.  You will also see bows all over my Christmas tree made from the same shirt.

The pillows with the bears on them are a Goodwill find, score!

This village is a traditional family favorite for my children, and they say it wouldn’t be Christmas without it.  But I did add a new piece this year- the vintage station wagon you will see in the picture after this one.

The plaid fabric you see draped across the black basket is another thrifted blazer that I tore apart and used throughout my décor this year.

Do you remember the rustic brown paper Christmas Tree I shared not long ago?  Well, it got a little makeover this year when I put it in a glass jar with a little plaid ribbon wrapped around the base, and changed the star on top to a plaid one too.

The tree with mittens is a Target find from the day after Christmas last year.

This bookcase sits right at the top of my entry stairs, and is the first thing you see when you walk up the stairs.  You are getting a peek here of my stairwell, which I will be sharing soon.

The print you see over the bookcase of the vintage car is courtesy of Lucy at the Craftberry Bush.  It is a free printable she offered to her readers, and you can print one yourself by clicking the link.  I had in blown up to an engineering print at Staples, which only cost a few dollars.  The antlers you see were purchased at Big Lots, and I wrapped the collar from the plaid shirt I ripped up around the deer’s neck.  The vintage thermos is a Goodwill find.  The candles are a gift from Sweden.  They have a tradition to light one candle the first week before Christmas, and then two the next week, and so on and so on until the last week before Christmas, they are all lit at once.  The Santa’s you see on the first shelf down are also Swedish Santas.  I borrowed one of Mr. 7 Year Old’s trains and tied a tree onto one of them.  He was so happy that I asked to use it in my décor this year!

That wraps up my living room this Christmas!  I still need to share my dining room, kitchen, stairwell, and our downstairs family room, so stay tuned!  I don’t know how I am going to fit it all in!  It’s a crazy few weeks!  Have a fabulous evening!
