Quick-Read Summary

This page explains how sweetparrishplace.com (“we,” “our,” “the Site”) gathers and uses your information.
We only ask for your email address and your name when you join our newsletter or leave a comment. We keep both in the United States for up to one year, protect them with strong encryption, and never sell them for ads. You may unsubscribe or ask us to erase your data at any time by emailing [email protected]. We set two kinds of cookies: strictly-necessary cookies that keep the site working, and analytics cookies that count visits. A small banner lets you turn analytics cookies off. If we ever suffer a data breach, we will notify affected users within 72 hours from [email protected]. Read the full, plain-language policy below for all the details.

Introduction

Welcome to sweetparrishplace.com, a blog devoted to home style, DIY projects, and everyday inspiration. We respect your privacy and explain our rules in clear, sixth-grade language. This Policy follows major privacy laws worldwide, including the EU GDPR, UK GDPR, Brazil’s LGPD, and the California CCPA/CPRA, even though we do not sell personal data.

IP address & browser info (pseudonymised)Google Analytics scriptCount visits, spot popular posts, improve site speed.

We do not gather payment data, health data, precise GPS location, or any other sensitive information. If you only read articles and never sign up or comment, we may see nothing more than a scrambled IP number in our analytics reports—information we cannot link back to you.

Legal Grounds

Under Article 6 of the GDPR we rely on:

  • Consent – You tick a box to receive the newsletter.

  • Legitimate Interests – We must guard against spam, secure the Site, and learn which topics readers enjoy. We weighed these interests against your rights and found the impact minimal.

You may withdraw consent at any time (see “Your Rights,” below).

How We Use Data

  • Email & Name

    • Deliver our newsletter.

    • Reply to your comments.

    • Block bots, trolls, and spam.

  • IP & Browser Info

    • Count visitors.

    • Detect errors and broken links.

    • Make pages faster for most devices.

We never use your data to set insurance rates, offer credit, or target ads.

Sharing

We keep data inside our systems except for the partners listed here:

Your Choices

A banner appears when you first visit with two buttons:

If you click nothing, only the strictly-necessary cookie loads. You can clear cookies any time in your browser.

Children’s Privacy

We do not target children under 13. Parents who learn a child joined our newsletter without permission can email [email protected] and we will delete the data right away.

International Transfers

Our servers sit in the United States. If you live in the EU, UK, or another region with data-transfer rules, your data may leave your country. We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) with our partners or keep data in-house. You may request a copy by emailing us.

Security

We guard your information with:

  • HTTPS only – encrypts data in transit.

  • AES-256 encryption at rest – scrambles stored files.

  • Regular penetration tests – outside experts hunt for holes.

  • ISO 27001-based procedures – checklists for backups and access.

If we discover a breach that risks your rights, we will email affected users and, if required, regulators within 72 hours, using [email protected].

Retention

  • Newsletter list – deleted one year after your last open or click, or sooner if you unsubscribe.

  • Comments – public text stays, but we strip linked email and IP after one year.

  • Analytics reports – stored for one year, then aggregated so they cannot point to you.

Automated Decisions

We do no automated decision-making or profiling with legal or significant effects.

Do Not Track

Browsers may send a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. Because no standard exists, we currently ignore DNT. You can still refuse analytics cookies in our banner.

California Rights

If you live in California, you can ask us to know, delete, or correct your personal info, and we will not treat you differently for asking. We do not sell or share your data for cross-context ads, so no “Do Not Sell or Share” link is required. Email [email protected] to exercise any right.

Changes

  • Post a banner on the Site for at least 30 days, and

  • Email everyone on our newsletter list.

Older versions stay in our archive.
