Spring Home Tour Part Three- Dining Room

March 25, 2016 By Nicki Leave a Comment

Hey friends!  Easter is just a few short days away, and I haven’t shared my Spring dining room with you yet!  Time keeps getting away from me.  I took these pictures on a dreary day, but it was the only day I had time to take them.  I wish I had more natural light, but it’s just the best I could do with the time allotted.  I hope you enjoy my Spring Dining room today!  My buffet is one of my favorite spots to change out for the seasons. If you are new here, my dining room also serves as our home office, which is not pictured here today.  So this room definitely serves double duty!

I made this cloche with thrift store items.  This is a glass bowl, and then on the same day I found this little metal pedestal and the bowl fit on it perfectly, like it was meant to be!  I just hot glued this pretty glass kob on top.  Inside are the roses my husband gave me for Valentines Day.  They were the most beautiful roses and they stayed pretty for so long.  They even dried pretty, so I clipped off the stems and decided to make them part of my Spring decor.

The old lantern you see hanging on the wall was a gift from a sweet friend.  It is from an old train car and I love it.  I painted the small vintage suitcase you see below.  I found it at a yard sale and painted it with chalk paint.  The tiny grapes you see on top of the books were a recent Goodwill find.  I made this burlap wreath a few years ago, and lately I have been enjoying it with just a white bow trimmed in black.

The little end table you see in the background here holds my husbands printer for his work, and inside are things he uses for work.  It is kind of a temporary fix, and I am still looking for a different piece of storage to house these things.

Across the room is a new gallery wall I have started.  The mirror and all of the frames were thrift store find.  I did a really fun art project at Christmas time with the oval frames!  The two white frames were shiny gold, but I didn’t love the tint of the gold, so I gave them a coat of chalk paint and then distressed them a bit so that some of the gold still shines through.  I found these botanical printables at the Bless’er House blog, thanks Lauren!  They will probably stick around for a while, not just for Spring.

My dining table is hard for me to photograph because of the large window right behind it.  But I just hung some miniature eggs off of my branches, and I found this pink tray at the Target Dollar Spot and placed it under the vase for Easter.  the table cloth is old, from my husband’s grandmother.  I thought it was pretty for Easter.

This is really part of my dining room, but I wanted to share my DIY rustic wood accent wall in the hallway.  I made this spring banner from pages of craft paper.  It added the perfect Spring touch in my hallway.  This wall is one of my favorite DIY projects we have done.

And that wraps up my Spring Home tour series!  You can see the whole tour by clicking the following links; Part One- Spring Entryway, Part Two- Spring Living Room, Spring Refresh In Our Master Bedroom, and Two Fun Easter Candy Crafts.  I will be taking a small blogging break until next week to do some blog maintenance, work on a project, and still working on a Spring fashion post for you.  And of course to enjoy some time with family this Easter!  Not to mention today starts Track season for Mr. 16 Year Old, and we are anxious to see him run again!  Happy Easter to all!
