This is my fail proof recipe for streak free DIY glass cleaner.
Hey Friends! Are you as ready for the weekend as I am? If you are anything like me, the weekends are one of the only times you have time to get some housework done. And I am sure this weekend will be no different. Today marks my second post in a new monthly series I started last month called Clean and Tidy Friday. And remember, boys and girls, you have to say it so that tidy and Friday rhyme, just like me dad does, mmmmmkay? Today I am going to share my tried and true recipe for streak free DIY glass cleaner.
For years, I used Windex to clean my mirrors and windows. But my mirrors were always streaky afterwards. And then I bought a book about the different uses for white vinegar for household cleaning. And after that, I decided I was going to try making my own window cleaner. Well, it’s been about 4 years since I started making my own, and I am telling you the truth, I have never looked back! My windows and my mirrors have never looked so good, and I will never switch back to any store bought glass cleaner. Not only am I saving money, but it is also better for the environment.
How To Make Streak Free DIY Glass Cleaner
Supplies
White vinegar
Dawn dishwashing liquid
Water
Microfiber cleaning rag
Spray bottle (mine is a 16 oz. bottle)
Recipe
1 cup white vinegar
1 cup warm water
2 drops of Dawn
It doesn’t matter what size bottle you choose to use to make your DIY glass cleaner. You will just fill up your bottle- 1/2 full of vinegar and 1/2 full of warm water. Then you add about 2 drops of Dawn. Put the lid on the spray bottle and shake it up. Spray this cleaner on glass or mirrors and wipe with a clean microfiber towel for a streak free clean finish!
Sound simple? It is! Don’t forget to use a microfiber rag with this cleaning solution. I think they are fabulous for cleaning glass and mirrors, and when I use this solution with my microfiber rag, I have no streaks at all. I was honestly shocked the first time I made a bottle of this glass cleaner and used it, at how much better it worked than Windex. Let me know if you decided to make some of your own! Like I said, I have been making this for about 4 years now, and I will never go back to buying glass cleaner again! Thanks so much for joining me today for clean and tidy Friday!
If you like it, then you wanna put a pin on it!
