Hey friends! I’m back to share a casual winter look with you today, and I have decided to name these kinds of posts that I write Style Files- what do you think? I hope you like it! I love stripes and polka dots, and really anything that is black and white. And as soon as I saw this polka dot sweater, I knew it had to be mine. I have owned it for a couple of years now, but I have linked to several similar sweater where you can have this same type of look below. And this turquoise necklace from Chloe and Isabel is one of my absolute favorites!
I layered this chambray shirt underneath of this sweater. I like this shirt because it has a pattern to it. I have a plain chambray shirt that I wear all the time, but this is a little of a different twist.
You can never go wrong with a pair of tall black boots, and this pair has served me well for a few years now. They are wedges, and I love wedges because you get a little height, but none of the discomfort. When I wear wedges, my feet don’t feel like they are wearing high heels.
These khaki skinny jeans are reminiscent of the khaki pants that used to be all the rage, and they have been on repeat for about a year now, I love them! So versatile!
Thanks so much for popping by today and spending a little of your time with me, I am so happy to have you! You can catch up with past style posts here, or follow my daily outfits on Instagram. Have a fantastic weekend!

Nicki, this is a very cute look. I love the polka dots, but I also like how you did some pattern mixing by leaving the chambray shirt hang out and cuff the sweater. Love your boots and the necklace too. Great outfit, thanks for sharing. – Amy

Aw thanks so much Caitlin, polka dots are never a bad thing, right?
Nicki, do you remember several years ago, there were popular books about wearing colors according to your “Season” …such as Spring, Summer, Winter and Fall? The seasons were based on a person’s skin, hair and eye color. One book was called Color Me Beautiful. Then, a fashion designer wrote a book about the different “Styles”. I don’t remember the name of the book, but she classified different women’s best style of clothes into Sporty, Classic, Casual, Glamorous, Preppy, etc. The style of clothes you usually show are Sporty/Casual, and while they look nice, I think that with your beautiful hair, skin and figure, your best ‘style’ may be more of a Glamorous or Classic style, or a mix of both. You can Google in each of these styles and see examples. It’s an interesting idea, and not meant as a criticism.
Thanks so much for taking the time you did to comment! I appreciate the input and will keep it in mind. But when I share my outfits, this is how I dress on a daily basis, and I don’t plan on changing that any time soon. I work in a middle school and compared to the environment I work in, I actually dress up more than most others, believe it or not! In essence, I am “doing me”, and one of my goals in blogging is to keep it real. But I do have times where I dress more the way you mentioned, and hopefully in the near future I can share those looks as well, because it’s a great idea! I truly appreciate the fact that you thought enough about me to write.
