Sweet Parrish Place Style {Vol. 10}

January 14, 2015 By Nicki Leave a Comment

Hey all! Welcome to my weekly style post! I took a little break from posting my weekly outfits over the holidays, but I am back!  Every week, I take pictures of my outfits and join other bloggers around blog land who do the same. These posts are something that I really enjoy, because I have always had a passion for fashion. I love putting together new outfits, and shopping my own closet to wear things in different ways. I wear the clothes I own forever, but I usually don’t wear any item in the exact same way more than once or twice.  As a middle school counselor, I am always looking for inspiration, and ways to be stylish, professional, age appropriate, and modest, and I hope to provide that same inspiration to other women and mothers in similar professions or lifestyles.
This first outfit is all about the tights.  I have been seeing polka dotted tights pop around the internet, and I have been loving them, so when I saw these on sale, I scooped up a pair.

We had three snow days last week, on our first week back from Christmas break.  It was kind of a bummer, because for every snow day we have, we have to make it up, so they weren’t really days off, they were just days taken away from our Spring break and the like.  But this is about what I wear on most snowy days at home.  You can see this cardigan styled differently here.

These next two pictures are from New Years Eve.  You can tell we were really partying hard!  We had a nice casual dinner and went home with Mr. 7 Year Old and watched the ball drop, then went outside and banged some pots with wooden spoons (a tradition that my grandma used to do with me).  I didn’t get a good full length picture of my outfit.

We took Mr. 7 Year Old roller skating for the first time over break!  A good time was had by all, even LC who refused to get on skates.  He just stood back and took pictures.  I was happy to discover that my roller skating abilities are still going strong!  You have seen me wear this vintage plaid shirt before here.  Everything else I am wearing is old and basic.  Basic white button down and basic jeggings.

And this was a date night outfit.  I can’t believe I didn’t stop to take a better picture of it, because I really liked it.  It was very simple, just distressed skinny jeans, a black turtleneck sweater, black moto jacket, black booties with a leopard belt and scarf.  Sometimes it doesn’t need to be complicated, sometimes it can just be simple and fabulous.  You can see the moto jacket styled differently here, and the distressed skinny jeans here.  I feel like I have worn this leopard belt and scarf so many times!  And with so many different combinations.  I feel like you could not go wrong with purchasing either of these two items- and you can find them both everywhere.  So if you don’t have a leopard belt or scarf, I would recommend you buy both.

I really love this outfit!  I like the mix of the stripes and the plaid, and then I also like the pearl necklaces.  I got the inspiration for this outfit from this outfit I pinned.  You can see that it is a completely different outfit, but the mix of patterns with the pearls inspired me to come up with this combination.

And look, again I am using the plaid and striped inspiration, but in a different way.  Still a plaid shirt under a striped sweater, but this time with a colorful scarf and polka dot jeans with tall boots.  This was casual Friday.  You can see this sweater styled differently here.  You can see the jeans styled differently here.

And last but not least, I am just loving winter hats right now!  So great for weekends when I don’t feel like fixing my hair but still want to look pulled together.  I like this grey one I bought recently with the pom pom on top.  I bought it on sale at Old Navy, but can’t find it online, but am linking you to a similar one that I love below!
