Today has been a really busy day! It is 8:30 P.M. and I am just now trying to get this post together. Spring has finally sprung here in WV, and it was a gorgeous day today! I vowed that once the weather broke I would start walking every day, and I am not going back on that. I have not exercised all winter, and I have to get in shape for bathing suit season. I enjoy walking in our new neighborhood. There are so many different routes you can take, and so many nice neighborhoods, so I very much enjoy it. It is just that it is one more thing I have to try to fit into my evening. But so far so good, I did walk tonight, so I am happy. Today’s Trashtastic Tuesday, I am focusing on the big closet purge that I have begun! Last week, I began attempting to both purge my closet, and start the change over from winter to summer. I am not even close to finished with this giant task yet, but I made a dent in things. Here is my closet before I began purging and changing it over.
Trashtastic Tuesday- Preparing For Spring
Can you say jam packed?
This is the first phase of purging. My bedroom was a little of a mess. You know how it is when you are organizing. It gets worse before it gets better.
These are the things I got rid of from another angle. How do you like that hunter green dresser straight out of the 90’s. It is on the list of things to make over.
I donated these two bags to a local consignment shop called The Looking Glass. If you live locally, and are looking for a place to take your clothes, and to make a little extra money, I highly Recommend this place. It is in Bridgeport, and the owner’s are wonderful Christian people who are very trustworthy. I will be donating many more bags in the not too distant future.
These are the stacks of winter clothes that I began packing away. I barely made a dent in them so far. They filled one large Rubbermaid box, and I got out one large Rubbermaid box of spring and summer clothing.
This is after I packed away one large box of winter, got rid of the two white trash bags of clothing, and unpacked one large box of summer. Does it look any different? It definitely feels different. There is much more room to breathe on the top rack.
Just for kicks and giggles, I thought I would through in a little trashtastic masterpiece for you. It is just a tiny little addition to my gallery hallway. Here it is. I bought this little frame at an after Christmas sale at Kohl’s. This is what I put in it. Can you guess what it is? (ignore the scratch above the frame. this wall is due for a paint job.
Have you guessed yet? Ok, I’ll tell you. It is from the Valentine’s Day card I gave LC this year! Cute, eh? BTW, the frame on the very top is also a greeting card.
I am slowly falling in love with this wall. I just love this little addition, and to top it all off, it is meaningful! It was the husband’s Valentine’s Day card!
If you would like to see the post I did about the number wall art in the picture above, click here.
These were just some small things, but I am well on my way in my closet, and feeling really good about it. And the little frame- just a quick and super cute little thing I whipped out. What do you think? Have you ever framed a greeting card? I think they are special and there are so many frame worthy ones! You should give it a try!
