Look what I did today!
I have frequently complained about the flooring in my downstairs hallway/mudroom/laundry room. And not long ago, I showed you my plans to replacing this linoleum and carpeting that has been here since 1996 here. I am planning on laying Paper Bag Floors. So today, I got busy tearing out this old carpeting. I haven’t starting removing the linoleum yet, because LC couldn’t help me today. So I am rushing to catch up on my laundry so that I can have him move the washer and dryer out for me. It will probably be out for at least a week.
If removing old carpeting is not trashtastic, nothing is! This carpet was in way worse shape in the hallway than it is in the family room or bedroom. I am sure because it gets a ton of traffic. So here in a few minutes I am off to Lowe’s to get what I need to start on my flooring. And I will be showing you my progress every step of the way. Wish me luck!I am linking up here:

You are brave my friend. Good luck! BTW, I would love to guest post on the dates you mentioned, not sure if you saw my reply on your comment. 🙂
Awesome! I will get in touch with you next week to work out details! Have you ever done this before? I have not!
This sounds like a great project. I have removed more carpet than I care to think about and I am always grossed out by what is underneath. I can't believe what can get thru the carpet. I did a post on how I repaired some rotten wood that might be helpful.

My advice on the quarter round is to buy the plastic molding, it paints up great, cuts well and you can use construction adhesive to attach it if you don't have a nailer.
I can't wait to see how your floor turns out.

Paper bag floors are so cute! Can't wait to see how they turn out.
You can do quarter round! that's easy breezy. Just get a good miter box, and you are good to go! lol; easy for me to say, right? Actually I did it way years ago in another house as one of the first few DIY projects. I felt very accomplished. Give it a try, just on that small area near the stairs, you may surprise yourself!
