If you have been reading my blog since the beginning, you might remember these giant utensils I found.

See Where I found these here.

So, I completely love these!  Although someone did tell me that these are very collectible right now, if I wouldn’t have painted them.  For a millisecond I thought maybe I should not have done that, but I like them bright green, so I forgive myself!  Anyhoo, when my parents came for Thanksgiving, and my mom saw my giant utensils, and I was telling her the tory behind them, which you can read more about here, and she told me she thought she still had the one that were hanging in our kitchen when I was growing up!  I was all like “WHAT”???  Anyway, the next day she called me and told me that she found them!  And I could have them!  Yay me!  She finally gave them to me last week.  They are not giant like the ones above, they are about 1/4 of the size.  Here they are.

When I was a newborn baby, we moved to Okinawa because my dad was stationed in the army there.  My parents bought these in Okinawa.  I don’t think I am going to paint these, what do you think?  But they do need treated in some way to restore them.  Any suggestions?  These ones are gonna go in my kitchen I think.  I love these ones even more because they were the ones in our very own kitchen when we grew up.  BTW, if my mom still had these, what other treasures does she have in that basement?  I think maybe this summer when I have time off, I am gonna go on a little dig!
