What I Wore Wednesday- July 16, 2014

Hey all! Welcome to my Weekly WIWW post! Every week, for several months now, I have been taking pictures of my outfits and joining the WIWW link party with The Pleated Poppy. These posts are something that I really enjoy, because I have always had a passion for fashion. I love putting together new outfits, and shopping my own closet to wear things in different ways. This week was very eventful! Actually a fantastic week! Here are some glimpses as to what I was wearing!

I wore this to dinner with one of my besties! I wish I would have taken a picture with her because she is actually one of my best dressed gal pals. I always love what she is wearing, and our taste is very similar. This dress I am wearing is a vintage dress from the 1960’s. I bought it at a Vintage store in Austin, TX a few years ago.

Miss 18 Year Old and I travelled to Columbus, OH last weekend, and she tried out for American Idol! (stood in line for 6 hours) Unfortunately, she did not make it through. Disappointing, especially since she did make it through 3 years ago when she auditioned in Pittsburgh. This is what she wore (she changed into heels before her audition). I thought she looked classy and gorgeous, and no one else looked better than her. Of course, I am a little biased! She is wearing a vintage skirt that she bought in Philadelphia a few weeks ago. I forgot to take a picture of what I wore, but you can see the dress I wore in this post (the red one). It was a really cute red sun dress. Oh well, it was all about her that day!

We also had a belated 40th birthday celebration for LC on Sunday at a local restaurant. This is what he and I wore.

I bought this dress from JCrew outlet a few years ago, but it was really tight. Last summer it wouldn’t zip, so I was super happy that it zipped this summer! The sandals are Nine West.

This is Miss 18 Year Old and I. Her dress was is from Free People. she bought it a few weeks ago in Philadelphia, and her sandals are Nine West.

I spent some time curling my hair this day. and then it was raining, and the curls did not stay long.

We visited Falling Water on Monday with Jason’s mom, sister and family. It tops my list for one of the favorite places I have ever been. It is in Mills Run, PA. We were not allowed to take pictures inside the house, but I plan to write a post detailing this trip. I am now obsessed with Frank Lloyd Wright and want to read every book ever written about this genius. I digress, this is what I wore. It pales in comparison to what is going on behind me. White capri jeans, T-shirt from Loft.

Then yesterday we went to Idle wild Park, which is close to Falling Water. This is what I wore. Could my top knot get any higher? I don’t think so!

Our Swedish daughter left this shirt behind when she went back to Sweden. I swiped it. she bought it is Sweden. Denim shorts are Sperry. Nike flip flops- not the greatest, but we were going to be walking all day and going to a water park, so they fit the bill.

And that was my week in outfits! Thank you for stopping by! It was a great week. And now, I am going to stay home and enjoy the rest of my summer, because there are only three weeks of it left for me, then back to work!
