Hey all! Welcome to my Weekly WIWW post! Every week, for several months now, I have been taking pictures of my outfits and joining the WIWW link party with The Pleated Poppy. These posts are something that I really enjoy, because I have always had a passion for fashion. I love putting together new outfits, and shopping my own closet to wear things in different ways.
Today I have a little treat for you! My daughter, Miss 18 Year Year Old, is making an appearance with me! I have a little mother/daughter style for you today. We took the same exact dress, and styled it in two completely different ways! So fun!!
So my daughter and I are both getting ready to go back to school. Me to my job as a middle school counselor, and Miss 18 Year Old will be off to college, starting her Freshman Year. To get you caught up to how and why we decided to style this dress in two different ways, let’s go back to a few months ago when I introduced you to an Etsy shop called Little Black Designs. This shop is owned by a good friend of mine from high school. She is the clothing designer. A few months ago, she brought me several items from her collection so that I could wear them and post them as part of my WIWW posts. You can see the items I wore here, here, and here.
Recently , my designer friend came over for a visit, and she had a great idea to have my daughter and I style the exact same dress in two different ways. It was really fun! The dress that we are both wearing is the Little Black Tank Dress. This dress is truly so versatile, timeless, and ageless. Not to mention that it is very comfortable and stretchy.
Here, my daughter styled it in a way that she might wear it to class. She wrapped a flannel around her waist and paired it with high top Chuck Taylors. So cute! She looks like she is ready for her first day on campus.
This is the same dress, but I styled it in a way that I would wear it to work. I put a classic white blouse under it, and paired it with black and white flats from Target. You can’t see this in the picture, but the flats have a cute little red stripe in the back. Considering this red stripe, I decided to wear red jewelry accents too. The necklace is from Forever 21. You don’t see me with my reading glasses on very often on the blog, but I do wear them a lot!
This dress that Miss 18 Year Old is wearing is the Little Black off the shoulder dress. Also designed by Little Black Designs. The dress looked stunning on her. You can’t see it, but the left shoulder has a little cap sleeve. She is wearing a pair of Kenneth Cole Reaction sandals that I just bought on clearance last week at Marshall’s- $20!!
And the rest of this post is just boring old me and what I have been wearing this past week. I know I am not nearly as young and as pretty as my 18 year old daughter, but I do hope you will stick around anyway! This is what I wore to a birthday party on Saturday evening. As you can see, we were playing with Mr. 6 Year Old on the playground. The denim jacket is from Gap- (similar here).
I bought this white dress at a consignment shop when we were in Philadelphia last month. It is from French Connection. The animal print necklace is from Forever 21. If you have never shopped there, they have lots of super cute jewelry for great prices! The belt is from The Limited (similar here), and the polka dotted flats are from Urban Outfitters (similar here).
I had a work meeting on Monday, and this is what I wore. Have I mentioned that this is my last few days off work? I go back on August 4th! My summer went way too fast!
Green and white striped shirt- The Limited (no longer available)Green skirt- Kmart (on sale now for $9.34)
Sandals- Loft (no longer available)
I don’t know about where you live, but it has been really chilly here this week! Kind of depressing since it is my last week off. No pool days for me! I went to the mall yesterday evening, and this is what I wore.Striped T shirt- J Crew (no longer available)Grey jeans- Gap (similar here)Tennis shoes- TargetWhite cardigan- The Limited (this cardi is $49.95, but you can get 50% right now)
One last thing before I go. I have been on a hunt for a black and white striped purse for a couple of weeks now. I finally purchased this purse last night from Sole Society. I can’t wait for it to come!

Anyway, when I registered on their website that says invite friends, earn $25, so I clicked on it. The way it works is you click on this link:
And if you make a purchase of at least $60, I earn $25! I think that is a pretty sweet deal, so I wanted to share it with you. The only way I will earn the $25 is if you click on the link above and actually make a purchase that way. And good news, you can do it too, once you are registered on the website! They have really cute stuff, so I recommend you go and get your shop on!
