What I Wore Wednesday- July 9, 2014

July 9, 2014 By Nicki Leave a Comment

Hey all!  Welcome to my Weekly WIWW post!  Every week, for several months now, I have been taking pictures of my outfits and joining the WIWW link party with The Pleated Poppy.  These posts are something that I really enjoy, because I have always had a passion for fashion.  I love putting together new outfits, and shopping my own closet to wear things in different ways.

This past week was a great week!  We had a wonderful July 4th with friends, and also had dinner with friends and went to another picnic with friends.  Here is a glimpse at what I wore this past week!
This was a movie date with two of my favorite guys, LC and Mr. 6 Year Old.  We went to see Earth to Echo, good movie!  You can’t really tell, but the copper dots on my shirt are tiny skulls.  I grabbed this shirt out of a pile my daughter was getting rid of.  The jeans are from Abercrombie several years ago.

This is the back of the shirt, and the reason I wanted the shirt.

This was an orthodontist appointment with Mr. 14 Year Old.  So far, still no braces.  Dr.  hasn’t decided yet whether he needs them.  This shirt is years old from The Limited.  The shorts were bought at Burlington Coat Factory.

See these sandals?  I twisted my ankle that day and broke on of them.  So they are now in the trash.

These next pictures are from July 4th.  This is my friend and coworker Jason.  Yeah, there are no words.

This is what I wore on July 4th.  I was going for festive and comfortable.  I loved this outfit!  The skirt is from American Apparel.  I was going to give you the link to it, but it is no longer available.  It’s a shame because this skirt is awesome.  It is high waisted, the perfect length, and super comfortable and flattering.  The chambray shirt is from Urban Outfitters, and you have seen it a million times.  They no longer have the exact same shirt, but the link I provided will take you to several really cute similar ones.  And the sandals are my favorites this summer.  They are saltwater sandals that I purchased at Amazon.  They come is several colors.  You can see how I styled this skirt for work here.  And you can see a different way I wore these sandals here.  I received a little mean girl action when I posted these sandals on Google +, but every time I wear them I get people telling me how much they love them.  Go figure.

I just had to throw in this picture I took of the kids all holding hands walking to the park.  Lola, in the tutu, is a 2 year old fashionista, I’m telling you!

This is a shirt LC bought from Matthew McCohnaughey’s Just Keep Living clothing line.  Only sold at Dillards.  We don’t’ have one around here, but they had one in Norfold, VA when we were there, so we went to the mall just so that he could buy some things.

This is what I wore to dinner to celebrate our 8 year anniversary.  I bought this dress for $9.99 at one of those typical beach stores in Virginia Beach.  I went up a size because although the next size down fit, I didn’t want the dress to be tight.  When I walked out of the fitting room to show my Aunt and cousin, the guy there working told me it was too big!  I told him I was too old to be wearing a skin tight dress.  I love the pattern and colors in this dress, and the one sleeve too.

This was dinner at a friend’s house.  I love this tank I purchased last weekend in Philadelphia at the most adorable little high end consignment shop.  The picture does not do it justice.

Here is a close up of the tank above.  The polka dots are neon coral and pink.

Wanna see what a group of teenager’s wears to a Paramore, Fall Out Boy concert?  Here ya go!

Thanks for stopping by for What I Wore Wednesday this week!  If you would like to stalk any of my other WIWW posts, you can find them here.
