What I’m Loving Today #2

Do any of you remember way back on July 6th when I started this new series called What I’m Loving Right Now?  I promised it would be live once per month.  And then, Haven happened, and our family vacation happened, and I didn’t make good on that promise.  But now that all of our traveling is over, hopefully I will be back on track, and this series will be underway as scheduled.  If you are new here, This is going to be a no boundaries type of post- it may have a little fashion, a little DIY, a little home décor, a little beauty, things I find interesting or awesome, just whatever I am in the mood to show you!  Sound fun? So, let’s get started with #2- these are some random things I am loving right now.

If you know me well, you know I love Tom Cruise.  Have you seen the lip sync competition between Tom and Jimmy Fallon?  If not, it is the best!  Here it is! (just click the image to watch the video)

I want to go someplace really fancy, and I want to wear this dress.

I am not a coffee drinker, I know, you are gasping right now aren’t you?  I drink hot tea, and I am loving this Lipton peach mango white tea right now.

I came across this post recently written by Brook from the blog Mom Explores Michigan called The Blessings of Being Raised by a Low Maintenance Mother, and I thought, wow, I hope I am instilling all of those things into my own children.  Definitely worth the read for all of you mom’s out there.

I first bought one of these cute little smiley faced sponges when I was preparing to spring clean my kitchen.  It is called the Scrub Daddy Sponge, and it had me at hello!  I bought mine at Target, and the thing I like most about this sponge is that nothing sticks to it!  I also changes textures depending on the temperature of the water.  And it won’t scratch any surfaces!  It also gets into any nook and cranny you have, and they air dry very quickly.  Plus, smiley face!  You gotta love this thing!

I love this moisturizer for summer.  It has a slight shimmer effect, and it is perfect for shorts, skirts, and sleeveless shirts.  I love it so much that when I couldn’t find it locally this summer, I ordered it from Amazon.

Speaking of Amazon, did you know that when I went to Las Vegas in May that I lost my Kindle at the airport?  I was so upset, I didn’t realize it was missing until I went to board the plane, and I literally ran at top speed probably at least a mile trying to find it, and I barely made it onto the plane before they closed the doors.  I sat there and cried, and the girl sitting next to me must have thought I was a crazy person.  She looked at me and said ”are you OK”?  Well, even though I reported it to lost and found, it never showed up, so I bought a new one.  This time I bought the Kindle paperwhite, and I love it even more than my old one!  The thing I love the most about it is that you can see it great while lying on the beach, but you can also read it at night!  I didn’t even realize you could also see the screen at night until it was getting dark one evening and I noticed it was back lit!

And speaking of books, I read two really good ones during our vacation.  The first one was titled Loving Frank.  It is a book based on a true story about Frank Lloyd Wright and his love affair with Mamah Borthwick Cheney, and the building of his home, Taliesin.  I don’t want to give anything away, but the things I learned from reading this book, I did not know these things ever happened to Frank Lloyd Wright.  If you like Frank Lloyd Wright, you would love this book.

The second book I read was titled Finding Me: A Decade of Darkness, a Life Reclaimed: A Memoir of the Cleveland Kidnappings.  This book was one that I could not put down.  I remember when they found those three women who had been held captive at that house in Cleveland, and this book is written by Michelle Knight, one of the victims.  It is a captivating story about what she and the other two women experienced at the hands of a mad man.

Have you been into a Lush store before?  We don’t have one locally, but every time we are traveling and find one, we try to go in.  While on vacation we went into one in Charleston, SC, and I bought this D’Fluff shaving cream, and I am loving it.  It just feels like a tiny luxury to my shower routine!
