Well, it is officially hump day! Last Wednesday I posted about Shades Of Grey paint colors on my Wish I Had That post. Check them out if you have not! I have a great post for you today, you are in for some eye candy! I love a good area rug. And would you believe that I have never invested in one? Not a great one anyway, not the perfect one. But we have plans in the works to paint our living room over the summer, so of course we need a new rug as well, right? Right? I think LC will disagree, but one day… Actually any plans for purchasing a gorgeous area rug will be put on hold indefinitely, because we have a 13 year old chihuahua mix named Bambi who likes to pee on every rug she possibly can. Literally! And it is killing me people! I have baby gates up all over the house to prevent her from getting to the carpeted areas, I have puppy pads scattered about, and she will pee right next to them on the rug! Right now the rugs in our dining room and living room are gross because of her (gonna rent a shampooer over spring break). So I refuse to invest in a great rug until she is gone. She is getting up there in age and is not getting around as well as she used to, so I will wait it out.
But, in the meantime, a girl can dream right? And I have a wonderful array of awesome rugs to share with you today. Many of these I found from my favorite blogs. What did you think? I would love to know which is your favorite. I think mine is the hounds tooth one in the Roeschell’s dining room (DIY Showoff). I have such rug envy right now! I sure do wish I had that! I also like the one from CDN Freshome. It would look good in my dining room. Actually, I would not turn down a single one of these! Some of the rugs at Overstock are very affordable too! I am definitely going to be looking there when it is time for us to purchase new rugs! This was the perfect post for me to read. My current kitchen rug is now a disaster so I thought I would try to paint it. It seems everyone in blog world is doing it so I thought why not. I am still unsure of the pattern and I really enjoyed seeing all the rugs and giving me some more ideas. Fingers crossed it works.
Jordan, I am just super happy that you read my little old blog post to be quite honest! LOL I always get a little giddy when I hear from one of my favorite bloggers! I love the floor mat/rug you and your mom made for your laundry room! As a matter of fact I almost put it on this post, but decided not to since it was more of a DIY than an area rug you can buy. I love the houndstooth pattern for rugs right now. If you paint your rug, I cannot wait to see the finished product, good luck!
Great post, Nicki! I'm not sure how I missed it yesterday (other than it's vacation eve and I've got a lot going on! lol!) They're all so beautiful. I love that rugs can add so much to a room: texture, color, pattern, warmth. Thank you so much for including my dining room rug in there. I do have an addiction. I have 4 huge area rugs in our home and where I don't, I've painted them directly onto the floor. lol!
