We have a huge deck. It is actually a two story deck. It overlooks a cute little pond- love! The top story is right outside of the kitchen door. It is smaller than the bottom story. And it was built several years before the bottom story. On the agenda is to power wash both story’s, and to seal them. The top story, being older, is in worse shape. So, I decided to spruce it up a little, I am going to do some kind of a paint treatment on the floor. I am also considering painting a faux area rug right onto the wood on the bottom story. Something simple though, because I don’t want it to take me all summer long! So I have been browsing around for ideas, and I thought I would share some of my favorites with you. Not all of these are outdoor floors, but I could do the same paint treatment on the deck. I will make sure to seal over the paint good so it will last. Here are my favorites! I linked back to the original source whenever I could.

Absolutely love your groupings. Perfection!!!! I had to repin onto my floors & doors file myself. Too good to pass up. Great job!
Thanks you! You would think a post like this is simple, but I spent hours finding all of those!
Those are fantastic! I wish I had the guts! Maybe on the deck…….. gots me thinking!

I think they are great, but could never talk my husband into painting one!

Thanks you! Wow, your favorites! I could not receive a better compliment than that!
Nicki–just found you popping up in my blog stats, so I followed the link back to find your post about wanting to paint your deck floor. . .and you're showing my painted deck rug!
I say GO FOR IT! It was such an easy project, and a great way to personalize the deck!

Wow, I brought you traffic! Yay! So, people are actually reading my blog then, huh? I love that rug! I am going to try to mimic it, I will share with you when I do! Question, how did you get that circle so perfect? That is the only parts that scares me.
I wrote about that in one of my posts on painting this.
Basically, find the center point of where you want to paint your rug, put a screw or nail at that point. If you want a 10ft rug you'll want to tie a 5ft string to the nail/screw, outstretched to pencil, tied on the other end.
Now you can walk in a circle around your deck making your circle!
Good luck~would love to see and hear how it goes for you! ([email protected])

Love it! especially the first photo
I love painted floors! I don't know that I would have the patience to do it, though…
These are all fabulous floors. My husband would have a fit if I even mentioned painting our new hardwood floors but I am thinking of painting a rug for the patio and these are all wonderfully inspirational. Thanks for sharing.
