This is a home tour of a nearly 100 year old home in Clarksburg, West Virginia.
Hey friends! Oh boy, do I have a treat for you today. I have a dear friend who lives in the cutest house that is nearly 100 years old, and I talked her into letting me come into her home and take some photos so that I could share this home tour with you. If I had to think up three words that would describe her decorating style, they would be colorful, eclectic, and collected.
One of my very favorite things to do is to get a glimpse into other people’s homes. I love seeing how people decorate and give their homes their own unique flavor. So, if you are anything like me, I think you will enjoy today’s post. If you look at the photo above, this is standing at the front door and I love the natural wood ceiling and the planters made from old chairs. It’s the perfect welcome for visitors.

My friend’s who live in this lovely home are Chrisanne and Lloyd. They are such fun people to be around, and they love to entertain and have friends over. My husband always jumps at the chance to come to dinner at their home because they make delicious food, and it is always a good time. The entry of their home is cheerful and bright and a great first impression the minute you walk in the door.
And the living room is just so light and colorful and pretty! It welcomes you in to the left of the entryway, and the fluffy cream colored shag rug feels luxurious under foot. The sofa is so comfy and I could easily take a nice long nap in this room. I love the fireplace, the windows, the built-ins. This room has a gathered vibe that just makes my heart sing.

The dining room and office are separated by wooden french doors. She opted to paint the walls a beautiful shade of purple, and it feels like a jewel box. I think it takes guts to paint an entire room purple, but she pulled it off, and it works! She mixed in some green with her area rug, and she has many gorgeous vintage dishes on display, and also some vintage furniture pieces. I snagged a few things from her hutch and dressed up the table. It was a fun process.
This dining set and hutch are part from Riverside Furniture and part of the Coventry collection. You can find them online by googling Riverside Furniture.
On the day of my photo session to prepare for this home tour, my girlfriend was preparing to have a friend who was recently married over for a celebratory lunch, and she invited me to stay. The cupcakes were delicious, and so was lunch. I didn’t get any photographs of her kitchen because she was working in it, so I didn’t want to disrupt that, but her kitchen is so pretty. Maybe some other time I can get over there to photograph it and share it with you. But for now, let’s head upstairs! It is equally colorful, cheerful, and bright.
I just adore her brave use of color, and the master bath does not disappoint. I love this shade of pink she chose for the walls, and the blue chest contrast perfectly with it. She painted the vanity in this bathroom herself, using the same method I used to paint my vanity in my master bath. I recommended this to her because mine has held up so perfectly. I think hers is holding up just as well as mine has.
She has four bedrooms upstairs, and each of them is just adorable. These first two photos are of the master bedroom. I love the fun chair that ties in with the paint color in the master bath.
This pale yellow guest bedroom has so many interesting vintage items in it. I am sure her guests feel very welcome staying the night in here.
I hope you enjoyed this home tour today! I have visited their home many times, and I am so happy that I finally was able to share it with you. And a huge thank you to her for allowing me to invade her space and share it on the blog! Chrisanne just happens to be an English teacher at the school where I work. Did you see anything during this home tour that might have clued you into that? If so, let me know in the comments! I’m interested to know if anyone might have seen any signs.
For those of you reading this who may live in the local area, please send me a private message if you have a unique or beautiful home, or if you know someone who does that might be interested in having me photograph it to share on my blog. I would love to start doing more of these types of posts.

Such creativity and taste from the past all working together. Great Job of design but setting such an atmosphere. Definitely a place to go and be removed from this hard world. Thank you Chrisanne for sharing!

There’s nothing like restoring a home to its former glory–combing new decor with treasures from the past. All of the warm inviting colors and fabrics make this home come alive and welcome you like a bed & breakfast. Thank you for sharing this lovely home!
I completely agree, I am glad you enjoyed it. Thanks so much!
Yes this is beautiful!! I love her use of color and like you said…the collected look. It feels homey and wonderful! I have a good friend who also painted her walls in one room the perfect purple. That’s not something that would ever cross my mind but it’s so pretty. I love colorful homes. So glad you were able to share this one. Pinning and sharing. 😉
