Hey friends! If you are joining me for the first time today, welcome! I’m so happy you are here. I live in a 1996 split level that we have been updating for the past few years. I’m so excited for today’s post because I have teamed up once again with my friends from No Place Like Home to bring you all kinds of Spring Inspiration. On Monday, I shared my spring living room tour along with some spring decorating ideas. But I held back my favorite part of our living room for today, my Fresh Cheerful Spring Mantel. I am loving the blues and greens all mixed together with the hydrangea. And the floral butterfly garland is the icing on the cake.

Our DIY AirStone fireplace surround was a project that I planned for a long time in advance. It completely changed the feeling in this room. Pinks, blues, and greens are my colors this year for Spring, and I just can’t think of anything more cheerful to put me in the mood for warmer weather and longer days. My home has a gathered vibe, which is something I have a passion for. Picking and thrifting and junking are totally my jam! I want my home to feel collected over time, and be filled with unique items that are a mix of old and new. The milk can next to the fireplace belonged to my parents, and my mom painted that herself many years ago. One day I am going to change it up, but I haven’t gotten around to thinking about what I want to do with it yet. Before we move on down to the next picture, I want to pause for a moment to point out my DIY letterboard that is visible in this picture. It is such a budget friendly way to add something trendy to your home!
Florals always attract my eye, I just love them! I also love my blue Ball jars! I have picked them up from various places. Two of these were so caked in mud when I found them that I could barely tell that they were blue. Turned out when I got them home and washed them, the large one has a crack in it, but that doesn’t make me love it any less. I picked the little brass dish with the bird perched on it out of a garage, like many of the other items that make up my spring decor this year. The green wine bottle with the handle is from a thrift store. I love using books in my decor, they add height and interested, and give a home a lived in feel.

I have had the large vase for years, and the green bottle is a yard sale find. The glass grapes are from the same garage as the brass dish above.
It was only fitting for my thrifted green and white afghan to be draped across this chair near the fireplace. I think one of my favorite things in this room is the stack of vintage suitcases next tot he fireplace.
I love this mantle so much that I am pretty sure it will stay throughout summer. I may change up the flowers over the next few months, but the basics will remain. It has been such a long and stressful week for me, and I have a mudroom makeover for the $100 room challenge to finish over the weekend. I hope you enjoyed seeing my Fresh Cheerful Spring Mantel today, I am really glad you were here! Don’t forget to pay each of my friends a visit today and see what Spring inspiration each of them have in store for you. I can’t wait to see myself!

Nikki, you really do have a gift for displaying items and decorating your home. I love how you mix your items and a “gathered home” is just what I would call it. I wouldn’t change the flowers on the mantle because it looks perfect! I love it all, seriously!

I also love the aqua jars and flowers! All year long, actually, lol. And that thick wooden mantle is amazing! I love anything that rustic. Have a great weekend!
I enjoy them all year long as well, and thanks, the mantel was a Christmas gift from my husband, it is from an old barn beam.
Hi Nicki,
You always have the best garland/banners for your fireplace. I love everyone you do. These sweet butterflies are no exception! Darling!

Thanks so much Robin! I’m really into these colors for Spring!
Happy Spring Nicki! Regardless of what the weather is doing outside, your home is truly channeling spring inside! Your glass jars, bottles and vases filled with your lovely flowers are the perfect spring statement on your mantle.
And I love the term ‘gathered’…perfect. I am with you that I prefer to gather the items for my home over time as opposed to ‘buying a look’ from any one store.
Hugs my friend,
Lynn
Thanks so much Lynn! We think alike on a lot of things!
Nicki, I’m in love with that mantel and how you have it decorated. It would look great from now until fall! And that butterfly garland is adorable. You did great!
